Cookies and browser storage

In short: ObadX uses only the cookies it needs to work, plus one for your language. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Visit statistics are built without any cookie at all.

csrf_cookie_name (cookie, about 2 hours): a security token that protects forms such as the demo request from being sent by another website. Needed for the form to work.

ox_lang (cookie, 12 months): remembers if you chose French or Cameroonian Pidgin, so the next visit opens in that language.

oxtheme (browser storage, until you clear it): remembers if you chose the light or the dark look.

ci_session (cookie, until you close the browser or sign out): keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read it), SameSite, and Secure on https. The Super Admin console uses its own session cookie, obadx_sa, that is never sent to school addresses.

ox_theme and ox_lang (cookies, up to 12 months): your look and language choice inside the school application, once you are signed in.

To see which pages are used and where problems are, ObadX counts page visits without cookies. A short anonymous code is made from your address and browser details together with the date and a secret; it changes every day and cannot be turned back into who you are. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the visit is not counted at all.

If this site's owner enables Google Analytics or a Meta (Facebook) pixel, a banner asks you first. Nothing from those services loads until you choose Accept, and your browser's Global Privacy Control setting counts as Decline. If you accept, Google may set _ga and _ga_* cookies (up to 2 years) and Meta may set _fbp (up to 3 months). You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.
